Richmindale College establishes measurable institutional goals and outcomes to support its mission and continuous improvement. Richmindale has established six institution-wide learning outcomes that define the broad knowledge, skills, abilities, and dispositions expected of graduates. These outcomes support Richmindale’s mission and provide a common framework for program learning outcomes, course learning outcomes, curriculum design, assessment, and continuous improvement.

ILO 1 — Develop intellectual, creative thinking, communication, analytical, and critical abilities through discipline-specific and foundational knowledge.

ILO 2 — Use technologies to explore contemporary and enduring questions related to a discipline of study.

ILO 3 — Synthesize career readiness skills through general and discipline-specific inquiry.

ILO 4 — Develop noble character and intellectual competence to thrive in today’s highly competitive market.

ILO 5 — Undertake research in the fields of business, information technology, and education to enhance diversity and knowledge.

ILO 6 — Acquire civic, community, cultural, and social competencies required for global citizenry.

Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs), Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) are intentionally aligned. Each academic program maintains a controlled curriculum map identifying where outcomes are introduced, reinforced, and demonstrated or assessed. Course syllabi identify measurable CLOs and the assessments used to determine student achievement. Aggregated assessment results are reviewed by faculty and academic leadership and are used to improve curriculum, instruction, learning resources, student support, and assessment practices.

Richmindale College systematically evaluates student achievement and institutional performance to determine the extent to which students achieve Richmindale’s educational objectives and to support continuous improvement in academic programs, student services, and institutional operations.

Richmindale establishes, calculates, reviews, and publishes appropriate student achievement and institutional performance measures using defined methodologies, documented data sources, and reporting periods. Measures may include, as appropriate to Richmindale’s mission, programs, student population, and applicable regulatory or accreditation requirements, indicators such as retention, persistence, course completion, program completion or graduation, academic achievement, student learning-outcome attainment, student satisfaction, graduate outcomes, and other relevant measures.

Publicly reported information will be based on reliable institutional data and will identify the applicable reporting period, population, methodology, definitions, and material limitations necessary for reasonable interpretation. Richmindale will not publish unsupported, estimated, projected, or misleading achievement claims as though they were actual student outcomes.

Where a cohort is too small, too recent, or otherwise insufficient to produce a reliable measure, Richmindale may disclose that reliable data are not yet available rather than report a potentially misleading percentage. Richmindale may aggregate multiple reporting periods or use another academically and statistically appropriate method when necessary to improve reliability, provided the methodology is clearly disclosed.

Student achievement information is periodically reviewed by Academic Affairs, Institutional Effectiveness, appropriate faculty and governance bodies, and Richmindale leadership. Results are used to identify strengths, areas requiring improvement, improvement actions, responsible parties, expected completion dates, and subsequent evaluation of whether implemented actions produced the intended results.

Current public student achievement and institutional performance information is maintained on Richmindale’s official website in the location designated by Richmindale. Historical reports and supporting documentation are retained in accordance with institutional records-retention requirements.
