This course introduces the concepts, methods, and applications of data analysis to produce meaningful insights, reports and presentations using spreadsheets, data management, and presentation tools. This course covers the basic methods in data analysis; data cleaning and preprocessing; descriptive statistics; exploratory data analysis; statistical analysis; data visualization; dashboard creation and business intelligence; time series analysis; reporting and communication; and data manipulation with Structured Query Language (SQL) using data management software applications. This course uses spreadsheet and database management system applications. Students demonstrate competency through hands-on technical exercises and applied projects that require analysis, design, implementation or configuration, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and evaluation of functional computing solutions.
