Course Description

This course explores basic concepts of organizing data using Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and Structured Query Language (SQL) for storing, retrieving, and manipulating data. This course covers relational database concepts; database design and modeling; data manipulation using SQL; database administration; transaction management and concurrency control; indexes and performance optimization; database security; and NoSQL databases. This course uses database management system applications and requires ICT-101 as a prerequisite.
